Dental Screening and Treatment Camp to be Conducted at GHPS Bangarappa nagar, Near Global village, RR nagar

In observation of NATIONAL DENTISTS DAY 2024 an oral health screening and dental treatment camp was conducted for the benefit of the students of Govt. Higher Primary School at Bangrappa nagara by Department of Public Health Dentistry,in association with Rotary clubs of RR nagar/Platinum city and Centennial on 6 th March 2024 from 9 AM to 2PM.
A total of 276 students including their parents and teachers of the school were screened. 49 were given dental treatment and appropriate
referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.
Oral health education was imparted and Distribution of Free Toothpastes ( Sponsored by IDA and rotary club) was carried out amongst the students.

A screening and treatment camp on the occasion of chairmans birthday was organized by Department of Public Health
Dentistry, RRDCH at Ambur town , vellore. Tamilnadu on 2nd & 3rd March 2024 from 9 am to 5 pm.
A total of 84 people were screened, and 35 were given treatment appropriate Referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.
Oral Health education to the patients were given using models and flip charts and movie played on T.V.

INTRODUCTION:
In recent years there has been a growing emphasis on the esthetic aspect driven by increasing patient awareness and demand for aesthetically pleasing appearance. Factors the effects of aesthetics include smile line, tooth morphology and irregularities along with these colour of the gingiva also place an important role. Cosmetic dentistry not only addresses issue like discoloration, malalignment and irregularities but also helps in boosting confidence and improve overall facial harmony. Gingival pigmentation is a discoloration of oral mucosa/gingiva due to wide variety of lesions and conditions. Throughout this discussion causes, effects and available treatments for depigmentation aiming to foster understanding and empathy for those affected by this condition. The protocol to be followed for each type was discussed with clinical cases being quoted as examples which were treated in the department.

Basics of Rubber Dam and ITS Application-Interns Study Club

“Basics of rubber dam and its application” a lecture series hosted by Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics under the leadership of HOD Dr. Vinay Chandra on 8/2/2024 as part of Interns study club 2024 was a huge success with a total of 62 participants (interns batch of 2019-20).
The participants experienced informative sessions from Dr. Annapoorna Kini and Dr. ShUbhashini followed by a hands on experience of rubber dam applications. The lecture session covered crucial topics such as “Importance of isolation” and “Details of the armamentarium” by Dr. Annapoorna Kini followed by “Techniques of application” and “Important clinical tips” by Dr. Subhashini N. the lecture session lasted for approximately 1 hour which improved the understanding of the topics for the interns.
The hands on demonstration sessions not only provided the guidelines and information but also helped them experience the necessary skills needed to utilize rubber dam in clinical scenario. The participants for hands on demonstration were divided into four batches which were effectively hosted by Dr. Geetha I.B, Dr. Shwetha H.B, Dr. T. Dhamodharan. Dr. Bhavana, Dr. Supriya and Dr. Akshita. The session was interactive and knowledgeable.

Oral Cancer and Oral Health Screening and Dental Treatment Camp at Magadi

In observation of World Cancer Day 2024, an oral cancer and oral health screening and dental treatment camp was conducted for the benefit of road construction workers by Department of Public Health Dentistry, in association with Departments of Oral medicine and Radiology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, RRDCH at Maralagondala village, Magadi, Karnataka on 8th February, 2024 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
A total of 76 people were screened and 19 were given dental treatment out of them 10 cases with pre malignant changes were detected positive for dysplastic changes on vital staining with Toluidine blue, advised biopsy and appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.
Oral health education, including awareness about ill effects of tobacco and cancer was provided to all the camp patients.
