History

Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital was established in the year 1992 with just 40 admissions in BDS course. It was housed in a rented building measuring 40,000 Sq. Feet. Now it has progressed to a full- fledged Postgraduate Dental Institution with 100 BDS admissions and MDS courses in all specialities of Dental Surgery. In addition, PhD in Orthodontics, Periodontology and certificate course in Implantology are also offered in RRDCH. The college is recognized by DCI, Government of Karnataka and Government of India and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. It is accredited by NAAC (National Assessment Accreditation Council)

Location

Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital is situated at a sprawling 5 acre campus on the Bangalore Mysore Highway at 19th Km from Vidhan Soudha. The Lush green campus has 2 lakh Sq. feet of modern building which houses the Dental Institute, its 10 specaility dental clinics, supporting labs and class rooms and residential accommodation for staff and students.

Dental clinics in all departments have 250 modern dental units / chairs. An average 450 to 500 patients are treated in these clinics daily. Each department is staffed with more than required number of full time and dedicated teachers who are well qualified and experienced in their fields of speciality.

Medical College and Hospital and Training

Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital is a 1000 bedded Medical College Hospital, recognized for undergraduate and postgraduate training by Medical Council of India. All Medical subjects are taught at the Medical College for the Dental students and students attend Medical and Surgical clinics at the Medical College & Hospital.

Dr. Abdul Kalam’s Visit Report

26th April, Friday, was the most eagerly awaited day at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital, situated at Mysore Road. The celebration of its 3rd Graduation Day function was graced by none other than Former President of India, Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The students were waiting with bated breath for former president’s arrival and finally their wait got over when a smiling Abdul Kalam came, waving to the huge crowd who had gathered there.
After having posed with the graduates, he proceeded to inaugurate the newly built state-of-the-art Radiology and cardiology Blocks. Built on a large area of 1 lakh sq.ft. with an investment of a whopping 40 crores including infrastructure and equipments, these blocks have latest CTscan, MRI scan and Cath Lab facilities, just to name a few. The most impressive fact about these new advanced facilities is that they are offered to the needy patients at unbelievably low cost. Dr Kalam showed an interest to witness the operational method of the machines. He then visited the hospital to the delight of all the patients and the staff. True to his style, he freely mingled with everyone and chatted with a few patients.
Later, he proceeded to the ACS Auditorium that was jam packed. There was a huge roar as soon as he entered the auditorium and the audience was trying to get a glimpse of their beloved former President.

Inauguration of Radiology and Cardiology Blocks

Former President of India, Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam was at the campus of RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital on 26th April, Friday for the 3rd Graduation Day. He also consented to inaugurate the Newly built up , Ultra Sophisticated Radiology and Cardiology Units and dedicated it to the society. Dr. Abdul Kalam, after inauguration, showed keen interest in the working of various machines and interacted with the staff present.
Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital has made a commitment to the society. The commitment to make super specialty health care services accessible to everyone especially the under-privileged. With a determination to fulfill our pledge, we are very proud to inform you all that we have come up with the state – of – art Radiology And Cardiology Units, to serve our patients better.
Built on the area of 1 lakh sq.ft , with a whopping investment of 12 crores in the land itself, both the departments have latest equipments worth 20 crores and trained, dedicated staff. Most services are offered to the poor at just one third of the cost charged in other hospitals.
