The alumni committee in association with the department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry has invited Dr. Revathy Suresh, from the alumni batch of 2011-2014 to throw light on the topic of “MASTERS IN DENTAL SURGERY : AFTER AND BEYOND”
This talk sheds light on future of Pediatric Dentistry. With the changing trends and the development there has been a tremendous increase in the branch of Pediatric dentistry.
Effective time management involving both long and short term goals, planning and organizing should be emphasized on.
Alumni association in conjunction with department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry conducted a CDE programme on MASTERS IN DENTAL SURGERY:AFTER AND BEYOND”. The guest speaker being Dr. Revathy Suresh from the alumni batch of 2011-14 currently working as Professor in Oxford Dental College Bangalore.
All the staff, post graduates of department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry and the alumni of department actively participated adding upto a total number of 35 participants.
Attendance Certificates were awarded to all the participants. Appreciation certificate was awarded to the speaker. The program was a grand success with a good interactive session with the participants and speaker. We look forward to conduct these types of program on a quarterly basis in the coming academic year. We aspire to include topics of various importance of our speciality.

Alumni association in conjunction with department of oral and maxillofacial surgery conducted a annual alumni meet. A talk on cleft lip and palate was delivered by the alumni of 2012-15 batch Dr. Amit Basannavar . All the
staff, post graduates of department of OMFS and the alumni of department actively participated adding upto a total number of 30 participants. Attendance Certificates were awarded to all the participants. Presenter certificate was also awarded to the speaker. The program was a grand success and we look forward
to conduct it every year. This talk sheds light on the advantages of incorporating the
newer techniques in management of cleft lip and palate.

A screening camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry, RRDCH in association with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka (CHC Chandrappa Circle) as part of the National Programme for health care of the Elderly, a national initiative towards Healthy life style and Healthy ageing, at Tavarekere on 28-12-2021 from 10.A.M to 3.00 P.M.
A total of 188 subjects were screened for oral diseases including oral cancer at the venue and all the patients were provided necessary health education and sensitized about their oral health status and the treatments needed by them .Referral mechanisms to enable them to seek dental care at RRDCH was ensured. About 177 patients were referred to RRDCH for further required treatment.
Dr. Syeda Muskan Jan 2nd year Post Graduate student from the Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology for winning Best Paper Presentation award at the 32nd National IAOMR Conference -2021 held from 03rd to 05th December 2021 organized by Mamata Dental College, Khammam.

RRDC hosted Campus placement day. A first initiative in the country. Four companies with varied job profile offering, participated and interviewed graduating interns, Alumni and Postgraduates. Lot of appreciation from these companies about the quality of our graduates were recieved..All companies want to have this as an annual affair. Many jobs have been offered.

REPORT:
The objective of the programme was to create legal awareness about sexual harassment of women at the workplace. Around 80 participants attended the programme. The Guest Speaker for the programme was Mrs. T. S. Anupama, BAL, LLB, LLM. She spoke about what can constitute sexual harassment and how the POSH Act came into existence. The speaker also discussed as to who the members of the complaint committee must be and the procedure that women must follow to lodge a complaint. She highlighted the mechanism and the timeline that should be followed for grievance redressal. Landmark cases pertaining to harassment of women too were discussed along with the outcomes. The speaker concluded by noting how women should conduct themselves to avoid such unpleasant situations while also stating that they should not hesitate to raise their voice to protect their fundamental rights. The programme was successful in raising awareness about the pertinent issue of harassment.

National Communal Harmony Campaign and Flag Day was celebrated with enthusiasm on 25.11.2021 at the RRDCH. Dr. Rajkumar S Alle, principal, RRDCH graced the occasion and addressed the gathering on the importance of the day, with a view to foster and reinforce the spirit of communal harmony, National Integration and Pride in our vibrant composite culture and nationhood. Flag stickers of Communal Harmony day were distributed to all the students in the college, to promote unity, harmony and national integration merits wholehearted support from all students and staff towards maintaining peace and harmony in the college.
Refreshments were served at the end of the Program.

The department has organized the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a mass movement on cleanliness awareness drive in Chunchunakuppe village and other surrounding rural areas & contributed to clean up streets, roads and other infrastructure in the village on 16th Dec 2021.
Abstract:-
Traumatic dental injuries(TDI) can cause problems related to teeth, as well as to the supporting tissues. These injuries can directly or indirectly affects the lives of the individuals, changing the appearance, speech and position of teeth. The consequences includes internal changes, root resorption, pulp obliteration, pulpal necrosis, ankylosis etc. Thus early diagnosis and management of TDI in children should be carried out for pain relief and prevention of damage to the underlying permanent teeth and the supporting tissues. The objrctive of this clinical meet was to give a better knowledge and understanding the case and conservative management of various traumatic injuries in children. It was conducted by the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry involving the active participation from all the department faculty, postgraduate students and interns.

The Department of Prosthodontics at Rajarajeswari Dental College is keeping abreast with current trends and advances in clinical and laboratory facilities. Our institution is one of the finest institutions with unique curriculum that is spectacular fusion of the best practices of the world. At RRDCH Prosthodontics we believe in continuous upgradation which is in par with the latest technological advancement. Conducting departmental level Alumni reunion was the brainchild of our Principal Dr Rajkumar S Alle with the vision to keep the alumni members updated with the recent advances in the department and in the field of dentistry ,to improve the interaction and sharing of clinical knowledge .As we have 45 alumni members ,On the 7th of December2021, the Department of Prosthodontics conducted its very first departmental alumni meet. This virtual alumnusmeet &CDE program mainly focused on “Prosthetic rehabilitation of maxillofacial defects”. Our alumni guest speakers were Dr Anand Kumar Muktadarconsultant prosthodontist and implantologist at Sundari dental & maxillofacial clinic who is also a recipient of Prime minister’s scholarship for studies and Dr Khulood Shaif Alabbas Al-Sulaihi Prosthodontist at Dentaries dental center, Yemen. The scientific session was chaired by Dr Prafulla Thumati, Professor and Head of the department of Orofacial pain clinic. The session was open to alumni, staff, post graduate students and interns.
The program began at 1:30pm,with the lighting of the lamp by our alumni students, Dr Anupama C and Dr Sindhu followed by the welcome speech by our beloved HOD, Dr.Shwetha Poovani. Our respected Dean and ever-enthusiastic beloved principal addressed the session by sharing a few words. The first alumni speaker Dr Anand Kumar Muktadarwas introduced by our faculty Dr Madhuri, followed by an informative talk about the management of post-COVID Mucormycosis cases with maxillofacial defects.
The second alumni speaker was an international speaker Dr .KhuloodShaifAlabbas Al-Sulaihi,who was introduced by our alumni faculty, Dr .Sindhu, and this, was followed by a series of case presentation about speech correction.
After the guest lectures Dr Ramesh ChowdarySir,Professorof Prosthodontics, started an interactive session with the alumni where all the members shared their thoughts and memories. The nostalgic memories were revisited through old photographs.
The program ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Mannova ,final year post graduate and a total of 45

The Department Of Public Health Dentistry- Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital observed WORLD AIDS DAY 2021.
Activities were held to mark WORLD AIDS DAY.
The program included distribution of RED RIBBONS to Principal and all the Faculty, Post graduate students,Interns and students of various Departments of RRDC & H.
A Virtual Online Guest lecture was organized to mark WORLD AIDS DAY.
A brief note on the speaker and their respective talk is as follows:
1. Dr.Ravindra NR – Team Lead-Tech support unit Karnataka State AIDS prevention society delivered a talk on “ Theme of World aids day 2021 and efforts to tackle AIDS”
The program was well attended by Principal, Faculty members, Interns, Post graduate and Under graduate Students.
Rajyotsava Day was celebrated in all enthusiasm on 26th November 2021 at Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital. The entire campus was decorated with Yellow and Red flags and balloons. Every one wore the traditional attire and there was festivity in air.
Several competitions like sports, cultural and rangoli were held on account of this occasion and prizes were distributed.
Our guests of Honour included Sri. Prem the Kannada Hero, Ms. Brunda the Kannada Heroin and Dr. Raghavendra Director, Producer and Music Director and Master Anand all from the recently released movie Premam Pujayam.
They entertained the gathering with their speech and interacting.
In all Kannada Rojyotsava brought out the real spirit among all.

The Department of Periodontology, Rajarajeswari Dental college and Hospital in association with JB Chemicals, Bangalore organized a CDE Programme on the topic – “ANTIMICROBIALS AGAINST PERIODONTOPATHOGENIC BACTERIA ” on 2nd December 2021. The speakers were Dr. R.S.SENTHIL RAJAN, Professor, Department of Periodontology, who discussed about the “Periodontal Microbiology ” and Mr. Vijay, Area Manager of JB Chemicals who enlightened about the “Antibiotics” followed by video clippings of the same. Around 150 participants including Faculties, Postgraduates and Interns attended the programme.
