Dental Screening and Treatment Camp at BRC office Channapatna
Date: 28/01/2025
Time: 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM.
A Dental screening and treatment camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry, RRDCH in association with Govt of Karnataka under National Oral health Policy at BRC office Channapatna.
A total of 120 people were screened and 25 were given treatment including Oral Prophylaxis, Restorations and Extraction’s,
Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.
Oral health education was provided to all the camp patients .
FROSTY FEST – 2024
On 8th January 2025 we celebrated Christmas and New year in RRDCH campus marshalled by INTERNS OF 20D.
We commenced the event by Opening prayer which was done by our beloved Dean Dr. Edwin Devodoss. This was followed by Gospel Reading by our Intern Dr. M Akshita. After this our Dean sir gave his speech followed by cake cutting. The event was anchored by Dr. Aditi Biswal and Dr. Nandita Kulkarni. Our 1st year 24D gave a marvellous skit performance depicting The Birth Of Jesus Christ. There was harmonious and melodious Carol singing done by Dr. Mayukh and team. This was followed by breath taking, amazing, dazzling dance performances by UG students and a remarkable dance by Ortho Pgs. We wrapped up the event by Jamming and Dancing to the Beats.
The crowd presence and their energy throughout the event made the event a Grand success.

Basic Course in Educational Methodology

Basic Course in Educational Methodology workshop was conducted in Rajarajeshwari Dental College and Hospital, on 21st and 22nd January, 2025 by Dr. Suma R (M Pharma PHD, Department of Pharmaceutics Al Ameen College of Pharmacy, Bangalore) and
Prof. Dr. Chandrakala V ( Department of Prosthodontics, KLE society’s Institute of Dental Sciences Bangalore) and coordinated by Dr. Shweta Somasundara Y ( Prof. Department of Public Health Dentistry) in association with RGUHS – Academic and Administrative Training Institute (RAATI)
Faculty members from all the Department participated, and program was well received by everyone. Certificate of completion was provided after the session.
Value Added Course on Enamel Wraps
The Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge conducted a two-day value-added course with hands-on, on 17th and 18th January, 2025, titled “Enamel Wraps”, an insight into anterior teeth veneer preparation for enhancing clinical knowledge and skills, as a part of Prosthodontist Day celebration. The course was conducted for internsof Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital and post-graduates of Department of Prosthodontics and the total number of participants were 78. The program started at 9:30 am with an orientation lecture and an interactive session on Veneers by Dr. Shwetha Poovani, Prof & Head of the Department, Department of Prosthodontics with. Followed by, a hands-on demonstration on veneer preparation was given at 11 am by Dr. Srilakshmi J, Professor, Department of Prosthodontics.
CDE Program Basic Implantology hands on World
CDE Program was conducted for Staff, Interns & Post Graduates from Dept of Oral Surgery, Periodontics and Prosthodontics on 9th & 10th January 2025 in association with MIS Implants.

The objective of the program was to give an insight on the different aspects of implantology for beginners
A hands on workshop was conducted following the lectures on both days.

There was enthusiastic participation from the audience with didactic group discussions and one on one doubt clearing sessions.
The handson course workshop was conducted in group of 11 participants each on both days.
Under guidance each participant placed one implant on prosthetic jaw.In overall
CDE Program was grand success which benifitted all participants.
Feedback was collected from all participants.

Date: 23/01/2025

Dental screening camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry at Government High School, Gollahalli ,Kumbalagodu.
A total of 220 people were screened and toothbrush and toothpaste were distributed among all the students. Oral health education and demonstration on tooth brushing techniques were provided to the attendees. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH for further
treatment.
Inauguration of Sports Dentistry Department at RRDCH, Bengaluru
Rajarajeswari Dental college and hospital, a premier institution in dental education, proudly inaugurated its innovative Sports dentistry department on 28th November 2024. This is the very first Sports dental centre in India.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Sri Vishnu Sudhakaran, Regional director Sports Authority of India (SAI) along with Ms Priyanka Goswami, Indian Olympian athlete who formally opened the new department. This event was also witnessed by Dr Ranganath V, Vice president Indian dental association and the president of the Karnataka state dental council (KSDC), Dr Reena Kumar, Academic director Indian academy of Sports dentistry (IASD) and Dr S. Vijayanand, Executive director Rajarajeswari group of institutions(RRGI).

Industrial Visit to Confident, 20D Interns
On January 4th 2025, our institution RAJARAJESWARI DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL had organized an industrial visit to CONFIDENT DENTAL EQUIPMENTS PVT LTD, BIDADI . The batch of 2024 interns , who were 75 in number were guided by professor Dr. LOHITH visit. We were given a introduction about the company and about the equipment's manufactured by them . The confident team made sure that we were educated about both dental and medical equipment's in and around the place . Generations of dental chairs were shown and explained in detail, along with it ICU beds, OT tables and dialysis beds were shown around. Later on we were taken to the factory side, where the details and packaging of equipment were shown. In the end we did learn and did carry lot of information with us and were happy that our batch of interns got to experience which was useful.

Shanmugam, was conferred with an honorary doctorate by Mysore University in recognition of his exceptional contributions to education and medical services.
