A screening camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry at the Govt. Primary School, Muddenapalya on 5th Nov 2018 from 10.00 A.M to 1.00 P.M. A total of 34 school children were screened, Health education was given to all the students using Health education aids. Consent forms were distributed to students to facilitate necessary treatment in future weeks. Appropriate referrals were made to Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital.

Research Grant from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences
Two of our Staff from the department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology have received Grants from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences for their Research Projects.
1) Dr. Savitha. J. K, Professor for her study entitled “Role of MMP 1 and MMP 10 in local invasion and distant metastasis in Oral squamous cell carcinoma: A new dimension in oral cancer.”
Rs. 4,00,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs only)
2) Dr. Varsha. V. K., Reader for her study entitled “Establishing the role of hypoxia and epithelial mesenchymal transition in the formation and maintenance of oral cancer stem cells in different grades of oral squamous cell carcinomas and metastatic lymph node through immunohistochemical expression of HIF 1a and snail respectively.”
Rs. 3,50,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Fifty Thousand only)

Dental Screening Camp at Doddamanarahalli
A screening camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry at Doddamanarahalli, on 3rd October 2018, from 10.A.M to 1.00 P.M. An environmental sanitation and cleaniliness drive was held in association with Jai Karnataka sangha at Gerupalya, chunchunkuppe gram panchayat on 02nd Oct -2018 under the SWACCHA BHARAT ABHIYAN YOJANA. A team of doctors including Postgraduates from the department of public health dentistry and Interns of RRDCH participated in the rally, cleanliness drive and DOOR TO DOOR health awareness programme where the residents were educated about the importance of environmental sanitation and cleanliness.

“Xemplar 2k18” the 26th Cultural event was held from 2.00 pm onwards Dr. Jayakar Shetty, Vice President of Dental Council of India was Chief Guest and released the Souvenir, “Silver Mile” being brought up for the occasion. Cultural events are graced by the presence of famous film Heroine Ms. Rachita Ram, upcoming actor Mr. Prakhyath Parmesh and Singer Ms. Supriya Lohith.
About Graduation Day
Dr. A. C. Shanmugam, Chairman, Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions presided and Prof. Dr. Andrew Ian Edwards, Vice President and Dean of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, U. K. was the Chief Guest. He distributed the certificates and medals and delivered the Graduation Address.
For the first time Ph.D degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics is being awarded to a candidate from this Institution. Forty Five Post Graduates (MDS) Ninety Four Graduates (BDS), Two Post Graduates in Implantology received their degrees. Eleven students received Gold Medals for their Out Standing performance in the respective subjects. Eighteen was honoured with Certificates for their ranks obtained in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Examinations.

Kodagu Relief Fund
It is an immense pleasure to share with, that Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions has donated an amount of Rs. 20,00,000 (Twenty lakhs) for the “Kodagu Relief Fund”.
