Holi the festival of colours was celebrated at Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital on 23.03.2019.
Staff and students enthusiastically participated and smeared organic colours on each other and expressed their love and affection.
Games like Tug of war, Pot breaking, Dances and other competition were held for the students and staff. Festivals like holi bring people together.

A dental screening camp and oral health awareness drive was held at Lakkiahnapalya on 27-3-2019. A team of dentists from the department of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH conducted a screening camp for oral diseases for the local population. A total of 18 people were screened, given oral health education and appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.
On occasion of “WORLD ORAL HEALTH DAY” on 20th March 2019– screening camps was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry at Gopalanagara and Byalla villages on 18th and 20th March 2019 respectively from 10.A.M to 1.00 P.M. A total of 150 subjects were screened and oral health education was provided. Oral Hygiene kits were provided to all the patients. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.

A screening and treatment camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry at the Wonderla Amusement park, Bidadi on 13th March 2019 from 10. 30A.M to 2.00 P.M. A total of 96 subjects were screened and 21 patients were provided with necessary treatment in Mobile Dental Clinic. Appropriate referrals were made to the RRDCH.
The programme had both postgraduates and faculty as participants which involved lecture and hands on training using DSLR camera. The participants had a good overview on using DSLR camera and intra oral photography. Programme focused mainly on basics of photography and macrophotography.
The CDE programme was conducted by Department of Periodontology which included lecture and hands on course by Dr. Supreeth S.M. Esthetic and Cosmetic Dentist(Newyork University) and Diplomate of Implantology.

A team of dentists from the department of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH screened a total of 95 people and 23 people were treated, given oral health education and appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.

5. Balloon Day- Distribution of Balloons with quote written on it to patients by Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry.

The Department of Public Health Dentistry conducted a Continuing Dental Education Program on “DISASTER AWARENESS AND RESPONSE TRAINING.”
Speaker Dr. P.R.S. Chetan – Officer commanding, Karnataka Civil Defence Corps; delivered a talk on “Disaster awareness and Response training”. The talk was attended by approx. 100 delegates including Faculty members and Interns.
The interactive talk was well received by all.
A memento was gifted to the speaker by Dean Dr Edwin Devadoss as a token of appreciation.

A dental treatment camp and oral health awareness drive was held at Government Higher Primary School Ramasandra on 26-2-2019 by the team of dentists from the department of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH. A total of 33 students from class 5 to class 8 were treated for various dental ailments, given oral health education and appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.
In addition, as a part of celebration of INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY BY RRGI, girl students of class 7 and 8, women faculty of the school were educated and made aware of menstrual hygiene. Importance of nutrition during adolescence, issues like iron deficiency anaemia and personal hygiene too were addressed. Distribution of free sanitary pads was also done as a part of this program.
