On occasion of ORAL HYGIENE DAY 2019 – The following activities were carried out by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, RRDCH, at NIRASHRITARA PARIHARA KENDRA , BENGALURU.
1. Dental check up camp was carried out and a total of 27 residents of all ages were screened and treatment was done. Appropriate referrals were made to the Rajarajeswari dental college and hospital
2. People were given one to one health education about the importance of oral hygiene and various oral health problems
3. Brushing technique and oral hygiene practice instructions were given.

A dental screening camp and oral health awareness drive was held at Government High School, Doddagollarahatti on 18-7-2019. A team of dentists from the department of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH conducted a screening camp for oral diseases for the students. A total of 172 students were screened, given oral health education and appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.

A screening and treatment camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry at Aadarsha Nursing College, Marappanapalya , Bangalore on 15th July 2019 from 10.A.M to 1.00 P.M. A total of 35 nursing students and staffs were screened and total of 5 students and staffs were given necessary treatment in Mobile Dental Unit, RRDCH. Appropriate referrals were made to the RRDCH.

A total of 150 Adults and Children were screened and Oral Health education was provided to all the patients. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.
Self Defence Awareness Program using Spy Technology
A programme was organized to educate girl student regarding self defence under Vishaka Committee the speaker was Mr. Varun Gowda. Around 130 delegates participated in the programme.

On Occasion of World Environment Day 2019 Our Honorable Chairman Sri A.C. SHANMUGAM sir took forward the commitment towards Environment by PLANTING FRUIT TREE SAPLINGS at the campus of Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital.

World No Tobacco Day 2019

On the occasion of “WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY” on 31.05.2019, an awareness campaign about TOBACCO AND ITS ILL EFEECTS was organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry.
Theme of World No tobacco Day 2019 was “TOBACCO AND LUNG HEALTH”
The Highlights of the campaign conducted by the Department of Public Health Dentistry are as follows:
1. Anti Tobacco awareness rally from Chunchanakuppe Dental satellite centre to Dodda aladamara.
2. Distribution of Pamphlets to General public of Villages of Chunchanakuppe Gram Panchayat.
3. Tobacco awareness/Health education among general public by Measurement of Caboxyheamoglobin and Carbon monoxide levels in tobacco users by Carbon monoxide Pico Breathalyser at Chunchanakuppe Dental satellite centre.
The Postgraduate students and interns of the Dept. of Public Health Dentistry participated in “WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY” Poster competition organized by Karnataka Cancer Society at Bangalore Medical College.
Dental screening camp at Gollipura
A dental screening camp and oral health awareness drive was held at Gollipura on 29-05-2019. A team of dentists from the department of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH conducted a screening camp for oral diseases for the local population. A total of 24 people were screened, given oral health education and appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.
Awareness program on Menstrual Hygiene Day 2019
An awareness program was carried out for the female patients visiting the OPD on the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2019 at Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital on 29-05-2019. A team of dentists from the department of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH created awareness about the myths, taboos associated with menstruation and the importance of good menstrual hygiene management and also distributed free sanitary pads.
