The CDE program was conducted at RRDCH on 12/09/2019 between 09:00 am – 04:00pm.
Inaguration of the CDE programme was done at 9:30 am. Our Head of the Department, Dr Gautam Shetty, welcomed our Speakers, Dr Dushyanth and Dr Saphal Shetty. Later Our beloved Dean sir Dr Edwin Devadoss, addressed the gathering Dr Saphal Shetty gave introduction about Full Mouth Rehabilitation.
Then the gathering was detailed about the topic by Dr Dushyanth.
Case discussion and Hands-on was carried out by both the speakers after Lunch. The programme continued till 4:00 pm

Chief Guest: Prof. Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty, Vice President Dental Council of India & Hon’ble Member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
Dr. A.C. S. Arun Kumar, Vice Chairman, Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions presided and Prof. Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty was the Chief Guest. He distributed the certificates and medals and delivered the Graduation Address. 41 Post Graduates (MDS) 91 Graduates (BDS) 2 Graduates in Implantology received their degrees. 11 students received Gold Medals for their out standing performance in the respective subjects. 28 students was honoured with certificates for their ranks obtained in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Examinations.

Freshers Day 2019
27th Batch of 1st BDS students were inducted into Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital through formal ceremony of “Freshers Day” on 4th September 2019. The function was well attended by Heads of the Rajarajeswari Medical College, all staff students and the freshers and their parents.
After invocation words of wisdom was read from Vedas, Bible and Quran. Principalwelcomed the gathering and Dr. Rajkumar Alle, Vice Principal gave a speech to the freshers. A senior student Dr. Sushmitha shared her experience at Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital. Fresher Ms. Shreya spoke about her expectation. With vote of thanks proposed by the Dean the function came to an end.
Blood Donation Camp 2019
A Voluntary Blood donation camp was organized and conducted on occasion of Teachers Day September 2019 by the Lions club of Bangalore South and Department of Public Health Dentistry-RRDCH.

The associating blood banks in the noble endeavor were:-

2. Lions club of Bangalore South- Represented by Red Cross Society
A total of 72 units of blood were donated collectively by the volunteers of :-

A dental screening camp and oral health awareness drive was held at Kollurthandya, chunchunkuppe on 21-8-2019. A team of dentists from the department of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH conducted a screening camp. A total of 12 patients were screened, given oral health education and appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.
CDE Programme on Management of Head and Neck Cancer
CDE proram titled “Management of Head and Neck Cancer” was conducted by the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology in association with HCG Hospital, Bangalore on 7.8.2019 at Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital auditorium. The keynote speakers for the programme were Dr. Shalini Thakur and Dr. Akshay Kudpaje. The session commenced with the active participation of the faculties, postgraduates and interns of all the departments. An informative discussion on the emerging prospects in the management of head and cancer was given by Dr. Shalini Thakur, followed by Dr. Akshay Kudpaje about the management of early and advanced oral cavity cancer. A glance on the role of dentists in oncology center was given by Dr. MeghnaMaruti, an Oral physician and Maxillofacial Radiologist. The CDE concluded with the message on the need for early detection of oral cancer and the leading trends in the management of head and neck cancer along with the role of Oral Health care professional in the management of Cancer patients.
