The rationale of the webinar was to present a present day scenario and comprehensive review of workplace violence against doctors , impact on physical and psychological health discuss the risk factors associated with violence against doctors and the possible steps at a personal, institutional, or policy level that are needed to mitigate such incidents.

The program was well received and attended by nearly 600 participants including, Faculty and Alumni, Students, Interns, Post-Graduate Students of RRDCH, RRMCH and TMDCH, Chennai.

The Q&A session was very active and whole program lasted 2 hours. This program was acknowledged and supported by the Management, Dean, Principal and Faculty of RRDC &H. All the participants co-operated in making this program a grand success.

COVID-19 Vaccine Sensitization Program and Mask Distribution Campaign – NSS Initiative

In view of surge in the COVID-19 pandemic in India and across the world, the development, availability and delivery of Vaccine to combat the disease and the public acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine has become critical and the urgency of mass vaccination against the disease, vaccine hesitancy and debate over its effectiveness and safety issues are becoming increasingly recognized as a serious public health problem.

As a part of social responsibility and enduring humanitarian services, Department of Public Health Dentistry took up an initiative with the NSS wing of RRDCH and conducted a sensitization program on COVID 19 Vaccine and appropriate COVID safety behavior among general public and the staff and employees of BMTC / KSRTC was planned on 20th July 2021at Kengeri Satellite Bus Stand.

A rally was organized from the Department of Public Health Dentistry involving interns, post graduate students and faculties, in the premises of the satellite bus stand using placards in regional language creating awareness on COVID Safety Behavior. Around 500 Free Masks were distributed to the general public and BMTC / KSRTC employees. A Flash mob was conducted by the department interns to create awareness on COVID 19 vaccination, its safety, effectiveness, myths and facts. A large group of general public were been benefited with this program. The staff and employees of BMTC / KSRTC have well received the program and expressed an immense gratitude to the department and college for taking up this health promotion initiative.

Webinar on From Research to Publication –Tips and Tricks

Publishing research article in a indexed journal requires structured writing with proper language use and framing of the research done.

With this aspect in mind Webinar on research article writing was conducted by Department of Periodontology. The webinar was an excellent presentation focusing on the finer details and tips on writing a research article. The programme was attended by faculty and postgraduates.

A CDE was organized by Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry on 24th June 2021, on the topic, Periapical Healing of Pulpless Teeth in Children- A case based learning.

CDE Program on Scope of Prosthodontics in Dentistry

CDE program conducted by the department of Prosthodontics under the guidance of Dean Dr Edwin Devadoss and Principal Dr Rajkumar Alle on 29-06-2021 focuses mainly on yielding better understanding of Prosthodontics as a branch of dentistry. Dr.Shwetha Poovani, Head of the department, addressed the gathering with a welcome speech. The number of participants was above 100 and those who attended the program mainly consisted of interns and BDS graduates across the state, who are aspiring to admit into PG program. The program included in depth understanding of the subject emphasizing the kinds of treatment given to a patient by a Prosthodontist. Dr Madhuri.V introduced the speaker for the day Dr Prafulla ThumatiMDS,PHD, who is a senior faculty member in the department of Prosthodontics and heads the department of Oro-facial pain at RRDCH. The lecture contained visual illustrations and case reports which explains how to handle intricate cases by a Prosthodontist in a nutshell. The aim of the program was to educate the aspiring PG students about the learning objectives in Prosthodontic pg program, hence motivating them to elect Prosthodontics for their PG curriculum. The program was moderated and concluded by Dr Prajna Shetty. It was an interactive session with exuberant exchange of knowledge between the participants and the speaker.
