World Ozone Day 2021
World Ozone Day – September 16 was designated by the United Nations General Assembly as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. This designation had been made on December 19, 2000, in commemoration of the date, in 1987, on which nations signed the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

CDE – Implant Supported Full Arch Restorations
A CDE programe was conducted by the Department of Prosthodontics on 24th August 2021, as a part of the Continual development programme.
The programme was inaugurated by our Beloved Dean, Dr Edwin Devadoss and our respected Principal Dr Rajkumar Alle.The programme was also graced by the presence of our beloved HOD , Dr Shwetha Poovani, Professor Dr Prafulla Thumati , Vice –Principal, Dr Girish H C and all the Heads and Faculties of all the Department.
The esteemed speaker for the programme was Dr Ramesh Chowdhary, MDS PhD, Professor of Prosthodontics and Head of the department of Research and publication.Dr Sindhu K introduced the guest speaker . the session was well moderated by Dr Prajna P Shetty.
The Topic for the CDE was Implant supported Full Arch Restorations. The CDE programme highlighted the Importance of fixed restorations in edentulous patients. The programme mainly focused on Full mouth rehabilitation with implants to completely restore the esthetics, phonetics, mastication and over all well being of stomatognathic system.
The programme was a huge success with 215 participants .
It was an interactive session an exuberant exchange of Knowledge between the participants and the speaker.

Independence Day Celebrations
75th Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm on 15.08.2021 at the college grounds. The dias and surrounding areas were decorated with Rangoli and flowers. Pooja was performed.
Dean, Dr. Edwin Devadoss hoisted the National Flag. Principal, Dr. Rajkumar Alle address the gathering. He spoke duties of Independent Indian citizens and how freedom has brought prosperity and peace.
Dean spoke about the 75 years of freedom which came through 100 years of freedom struggle. Students sang patriotic songs with the college band. Over 100 students and staff participated. Refreshments were served.

Screening and Treatment camp was organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry at Nirashritara parihara Kendra on 13th August 2021 from 10 am to 1 pm.
A total of 19 patients were treated and 7 patients were treated. Appropriate referrals were done to RRDCH for furthur treatment.
