As a part of Rashtriya Bal SwasthyaKaryakram(RBSK), our institution conducted a screening and treatment camp for rural school children at Hoskote on 3rd Nov,2022 from 10AM to 4:30 PM.
A team of dentists from the Departments of Public Health Dentistry and Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry of RRDCH screened 158 school children and treated 55 of those needing various treatments. Health education and preventive procedures were also done for the benefit of the children.

A screening and treatment camp was organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry,RRDCH in association with “AADHYATHE TRUST” on 30th October 2022 from 9.30A.M to 4.00 P.M. A total of 311 people were screened, 12 people were given treatment. Appropriate referrals were ensured to RRDCH.

An environmental sanitation awareness drive under the banner of NSS unit of RRDCH in association with dept. of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH was organized at Bheemanakuppe-kethohalli village on 15-10-2022 as a part of the CLEAN INDIA CAMPAIGN 2022.
The cleaning campaign was undertaken by the NSS volunteers including undergraduate students of RRDCH.
The temple campus and roadside area of Kethohalli village area was cleaned of plastic waste and the residents of Kethohalli village were educated on importance of Environmental cleanliness.
The event also brought about social awareness and responsibility amongst the NSS volunteers.
Under the banner of NSS unit of RRDCH in association with dept. of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH FIT India Campaign was organized at at RRDCH on 15-10-2022.
The event was Flagged off by Dean of RRDCH Dr Edwin Devadoss and Principal of RRDCH- Dr. Rajkumar S Alle.
Principal of Rajarajeshwari Dental College and Hospital- Dr Rajkumar S Alle , Faculty and the NSS volunteers including undergraduate students of RRDCH actively participated in the rally spreading message of Physical fitness and good health.

An oral health awareness and training program for the facilitators of ASHA workers was organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in association with Department of Public Health Dentistry, RRDCH at District Health Office, Ramanagara on 21st Oct,2022 from 10:00 AM to 3 PM.
Faculty from the department of Public Health Dentistry, Dr. Padma K Bhat, Prof.HOD and Dr. Shweta Somasundara Prof. conducted two sessions of Oral Health Education using Audio-visual aids such as videos, flip charts, demonstration models and interactive sessions.
Importance of identification of common oro-dental diseases, their prevention and referral for preventive procedures was stressed upon. The impact of the training program was evaluated using structured questionnaire which showed that the program was well received by the target audience.
The team of organizers from National Oral Health Program also gave positive feedback about the same.

A team of dentists from the Department of Public Health Dentistry and Pedodontics of RRDCH conducted a screening and treatment camp for oral diseases for the students of Government school, Nelamangala. A total of 180 school children were screened 60 were treated and appropriate referrals were made.

A dental screening and treatment camp was held at Government Karnataka Public School, Doddabelavangala, Dodballapur on 20-10-2022 under the scheme Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, Government of Karnataka
A team of dentists from the Department of Public Health Dentistry and Pedodontics of RRDCH conducted a screening and treatment camp for oral diseases for the school students at Government school, Doddabelavangala. A total of 210 school children were screened and 70 were treated for various oral health problems. Appropriate referrals were made.

The Dept. of Public Health dentistry- RRDCH in association with Depts. Of Psychiatric Medicine and Community medicine of RRMCH observed World Mental health Day on 12th of October 2022.
Dean- Dr Edwin Devadoss, Principal- Dr Rajkumar S Alle and Head of Dept, of Public Health Dentistry- Dr Padma K Bhat addressed the students on the relevance of Mental Health.
The event included awareness program by the faculty and Postgraduates of Psychiatric and Community medicine of RRMCH.
This was followed by personalized confidential counseling sessions by doctors of Psychiatric medicine for the required Interns and students of RRDCH.
The program was well received and acknowledged by the Management, Dean, Principal, Faculty, Interns and Students of RRDCH.
A CDE programme and hands-on session were conducted by the Department of Prosthodontics on 26th September, 2022, as a part of continual development programme.
The programme was inaugurated by our Beloved, Dean Dr Edwin Devadoss, Principal Dr Rajkumar. S Alle and Vice-Principal Dr. Girish. H. C. The programme was also graced by the presence of our HOD, Dr Shwetha Poovani.
Dr. Shwetha Poovani, professor and head of the department addressed the gathering and Dr. Sindhu introduced the guest speaker. The guest speaker for the programme was Dr. Khulood Al-Suleihi, BDS, MDS, FICOI. She’s an alumni of Department of Prosthodontics, Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital. She’s currently working as a Senior Lecturer at University Of Science and Technology – Sana’a Yemen and a consultant Prosthodontist at Dentaire Dental Centre, Yemen. She has keen interest in dental implantology and maxillofacial Prosthodontics. She has recently been trained under Daril Atkins in his academy, D.A Anaplastology, Bangalore.
The Topic for the CDE was on “Maxillofacial Prosthodontics A close look”. The programme had highlighted the tips and tricks of maxillofacial rehabilitation of eye, ear and nose and a detailed explanation of the methods and materials used in fabrication of the prosthesis. The session was well moderated by Dr. Suguna Priya.
The CDE program was followed by a hands-on session which was conducted in the Post Graduate laboratory at the Department of Prosthodontics. In this programme, Dr. Khulood, demonstrated the tips and tricks in the designing and fabrication of orbital, auricular and nasal prosthesis on models. The post graduate simultaneously fabricated the wax model of nose by the end of the session.
The programme was a huge success with 83 participants. It was an interactive session with a questionnaire checklist, an exuberant exchange of knowledge between the participants and the speaker. A good feedback was received from everyone.

An Oral Health Screening, Health Education And Dental Treatment Camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry – RRDCH under RBSK Programme, National oral health mission, Govt. of Karnataka at Chokkalinga vidyashale, Hejjala gate, Bidadi. This camp was organized for school children of nearby schools assembling at chokkalinga vidyashaale. About 387 school children were screened and 52 Patients received treatment in the mobile dental unit. An oral health education was given to all school children, school teachers including ASHA workers using Health education material. Children with more complex treatment were referred to RRDCH for further treatment.

The screening and treatment camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry,RRDCH in association with PAREENAM FOUNDATION at Pantharapalya on 11th September 2022 from 9.30 A.M to 3.00 P.M.
A total of 150 subjects were screened at the venue and about 10Patients were provided necessary dental treatment in the Mobile Dental Unit. About 100 patients were referred to the RRDCH for further required treatment.

A Voluntary Blood donation camp was organized and conducted on occasion of Teachers Day- September 2022 by the Department of Public Health Dentistry Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital. The associating blood banks and organizations in the noble endeavor were:-
1. Blood bank- Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital.
2. Blood bank of Victoria hospital – Bangalore.
A total of 46 UNITS of blood were donated collectively from the volunteer donors including Teaching, Non Teaching Staff, and Postgraduates, Interns and Undergraduates of Rajarajeshwari Dental college and Hospital.
In addition all the Donors and Volunteers were tested for Heamoglobin levels and Blood grouping.
The program was well received and acknowledged by the Management, Dean, Principal and Faculty of RRDCH.
All the volunteers wholeheartedly co-operated in making this program a grand success.
Sadbhavana day was observed by the Department of Public health dentistry in association with NSS unit, RRDCH on 23rd August 2022. All the Interns, Final year students, Staff were addressed by PRINCIPAL, Dr.Rajkumar Alle on the importance of Communal Harmony and peace among all the religions and cultures. He stressed on the younger generation to maintain harmony, social goodwill and sympathy towards the people in the society.
Sadbhavana day Oath was taken by all the participants of the programme. Programme was well received by all spreading the message of Peace and good faith among fellow beings of our country.
On the occasion of “Jilhadhikari Nade Halli Kade” a screening and treatment camp was organized by Public health dentistry,RRDCH in association with District Tobacco Control unit, Bangalore Rural district and Taluka Health Office, Nelamangala taluk at Manne, Nelamangala taluk on 20th Aug,2022 from 10AM to 5 PM under the direction of Health Minister Dr.Sudhakar, MoHFW.
A team of dentists from the department of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH conducted a screening and treatment camp for oral disease for the local population. A total of 238 people were screened,49 people had undergone treatment. Oral Health Awareness & Oral Hygiene Instructions were given to the public. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.
A dental screening camp was held at Siddaganga Mutt, Tumkur on 19-08-2022
A team of dentists from the departments of Public Health Dentistry, Oral Medicine, Prosthodontics, Pedodontics, Periodontics, Oral surgery and Orthodontics of RRDCH conducted a screening camp for oral diseases for the students of Siddaganga Mutt. A total of 800 school children and staff were screened,oral hygiene instructions given and appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH.
75TH Independence Day and Azadi Ki Amruth Mahotsav was celebrated on 15.08.2022 at Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital Ground with gaiety and enthusiasm. The entire college building was illuminated and decked with hundreds of flags.
Lt. Col (Rtd) Er. Prem Kumar a Veteran of 1971 Indo Pak was and operation “Blue Star’ was the chief Guest. He hoisted the National Flag. More than 100 students and staff who attended this function held the Tri Colour in their hands and sang Patriotic songs. Dean introduced the Chief Guest and requested him to hoist the Flag.
After the flag hoisting Lt. Col. Prem Kumar gave the speech. He urged students to remember the sacrifices made and being made for preserving our freedom. He invited young people to serve the nation by joining the services. Principal proposed the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with serving breakfast to all.
