The annual Anti Ragging Seminar was organized on 16.12.2016 at the Auditorium.

Dr. Shivasharan, DCI member was the Chief Guest, Advocate Mrs. Anupama, Legal Advisor, Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions was the speaker.

Dr. Rajkumar Alle, P. G. Director welcomed the gathering. Dr. Shivasharan spoke the ills of ragging and Mrs. Anupama explained the legalities and punishments involved.

Dr. Balaji, Chairperson, Anti Ragging Committee and Dr. Shashikumar. H. C. Chairperson, Anti Ragging Squad Committed felicitated the guests.

All students and staff attended the semiar.

Christmas 2016 was celebrated at Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital with lot of fun fare and gaiety but also with great meaning of “The Joy of Giving”. The Staff and Students contributed to present New Christmas dresses to 24 children from Sneha Jyothi Orphanage. These Children also took part in the X-mas programme that followed in the night with camp fire and live band and carol singing.

Staff put up “X-mas Fair” and sold Goodies and Fancy items. Students erected a menger and decorated the whole campus.

Kannada Rajyothsava was celebrated at RRDCH with gaiety and enthusiasm on 18th October 2016.

It started with the flag hoisting by the Dean followed by state anthem. Dance and Dollu Kunitha was performed at the open air. Typical Kannada Lunch was served to all. Stage function was arranged from 1.30 pm. K. S. Naveen was the chief guest and spoke about the glory of Karnataka and the language. The staff and students gave a colourful cultural fest. The richness of Kannada culture was established during the programme.

Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the essay competition conducted on the eve of Rajyothsava. The Dean Dr. Edwin Devadoss was honoured by staff and students on the occasion.

24th College Day and Cultural Fest named Lumiere 2K16 was celebrated at ACS Convention Center of Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital Campus at 10.00 am on 22nd October 2016. Sri. A. C. Shanmugam, Chairman, Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions prsided famous Kannada Cine Hero Mr. Prem (Nenapirali Prem) was the Chief Guest. He distributed Cultural and Sports awards. He spoke about importance of concentration in education during student days.

20 cultural events including songs, dances, fashion shows and live band were exhibited.

The function followed by Lunch for all who attended.

21st Graduation ceremony of Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital was conducted at ACS Convention Center at Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital campus from 3.00 pm on 22nd October 2016.

Chairman of Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions Sri A. C. Shanmugam presided. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Dr. K. S. Ravindranath was the Chief Guest and awarded the certificates and medals to Graduants. 95 BDS 40 MDS & 5 Implantology P.G’s received their certificate and momentous. 11 Gold Medals were awarded to meritorious students.

Vice Chancellor spoke about the present scenario of employment opportunities and possibility of P.G. seats to dental graduates and urged them to consider value based ethical practice. He also asked them to fill the vaccum in smaller towns. Chairman facilitated Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and the Graduants facilitated the Chairman.

The Graduation ended with National anthem.

A free Denture treatment camp was conducted by Department of Prosthodontics and Public Health Dentistry in CMC, T.M. Government Hospital, Chandrappa Circle, Bangalore South District on behalf of “International Day of Elderly Persons”.

A camp was carried out with 19 members including Dr. Ravikumar, Nodal Officer of Dantha Bhagya Yojane, staff, P.G.’s, Interns of both Prosthodontics and Public Health Dentistry Departments.

Dr. Savita. J. K, Reader in the Department of Oral Pahtology & Microbiology has received fellowship in INDIAN BOARD OF FORENSIC ODONTOLOGY.

We are celebrating Silver Jubilee of your Institution on Saturday the 22nd October 2016 from 4.00 pm onwards.

We intend to felicitate our 1st Batch of BDS Graduates on that day.

We have arranged an “Alumni get together” from 7.30 pm onwards followed by a cocktail dinner.

A Voluntary Blood donation camp was organized and conducted on occasion of Teachers Day September 2016 by the Department of Public Health Dentistry Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital.

The associating blood banks in the noble endeavor were:-

2.Lions club of Bangalore South- Represented by Red Cross Society

A total of 59 units of blood were donated collectively by the volunteers of :-

The program was well received and acknowledged by the Management, Dean, Principal and Faculty of RRDC &H.All the volunteers wholeheartedly co-operated in making this program a grand success.

Dr. Samba Shiva Reddy, P.G., in Periodontology has won 2nd Prize by presenting a Scientific Paper at 3rd National P.G. Talent Search held at Thirupati on 26th February 2016. The Management, Staff and Students congratulate him on this achievement.

Induction of the 10th Batch of Post Graduates was done on 10.06.2016. 44 P.G.’s were welcomed with Roses and Greeting cards by the respective Heads of the Department and their senior colleagues. The Chief guest of the function was
Prof. Dr. Roopa Nadig, Dean Faculty of Dentistry, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She spoke about the duties of P.G.’s and their responsibilities.
