The Department of Oral medicine and Radiology celebrated World Radiology Day on 10th November 2020 with the theme of “Radiologists and Radiographers supporting patients during COVID 19” to pay tribute to William Roentgen, who discovered X Ray on 8th Nov 1895. Radiology day is an annual event promoting its role of medical imaging in modern health care. Radiology ios one of the essential parts of diagnostic treatment services in caring for patients.
Radiology has come so far in 125 years with incredible advancements, Radiographers worldwide used this day and the days around the date to promote radiology as a career, as a vital contribution to modern healthcare and as a chance to increase public awareness of diagnostic imaging and therapy.
On this momentous occasion we the faculty, post graduate students and the radiology technicians at the department of Oral medicine and Radiology, RajaRajeswari Dental College and Hospital celebrated this day in gracious presence of respected Dean and Principal of the Institution with a short and interactive session summarizing the various themes of former radiology day and the role of radiologists in the COVID 19 pandemic.

In observance of National Tooth brushing Day 2020- The Department of Public Health Dentistry organized an Oral Health Education, Tooth Brushing Demonstration and Distribution of FREE ORAL HYGIENE KITS for SUPPORT STAFF OF RRDCH on 11-11-2020.
Demonstration of correct method of tooth brushing using models and reinforcement of the same was carried out by encouraging the participants to demonstrate the tooth brushing technique that was taught to them. This was followed by education about dental diseases, its treatment and Distribution of free oral hygiene kits for support staff of RRDCH. Around 90 support staff including the Office staff benefitted from this event.
The program was well received and acknowledged by Dean, Principal and support staff of RRDCH.

A Voluntary Blood Grouping camp was organized and conducted on occasion of National voluntary blood donation day October 2020 by the Department of Public Health Dentistry Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital. The associating blood bank in the noble endeavor was Blood bank- Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital.
The blood type and Hb % of all Faculty, Postgraduates and Non teaching faculty at RRDCH was registered.
Interested volunteer blood donors were further referred to RRMCH .The program was well received and acknowledged by Dean, Principal and Faculty of RRDCH.
All the volunteers wholeheartedly co-operated in making this program a grand success.

Teacher’s Day is being celebrated in India since 1962. On Teacher’s Day, students give their teachers different kinds of gifts, expressing their gratitude towards them and thanking them for providing guidance in their lives.
