World Leprosy Eradication Day
Dental Screening Camp at Kudur Village
A post lockdown screening and treatment camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry,RRDCH in association with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka (Ramnagara division) at the Primary Health Centre, Kudur village, Magadi Taluk on 28th January 2021 from 10.A.M to 2.30 P.M. A total of 178 people from nearby villages were screened, 30 of them were referred to RRDCH under the Danta Bhagya Scheme and 24 people were given treatment. Appropriate referrals were also made to the RRDCH.

On occasion of “WORLD CANCER DAY” 4TH FEBRUARY 2021 the Department of Public Health Dentistry-RRDCH organized the following events.
1. Distribution of Certificates for Prize winners of E –POSTER COMPETITION for Undergraduates, Interns and Postgraduates of RRDCH on the theme “I want to be a Warrior against cancer”
2. CANCER AWARENESS AND TREATMENT CAMP at Channapatna Govt. Hospital.
There was an enthusiastic response from 1st to 4th BDS students, MDS post graduate students and Interns from RRDCH. All the participants received a certificate of participation and the winners received a Certificate of Merit. The winners of posters and names are displayed across digital platforms of Rajarajeswari group of Institutions.
A post lockdown dental screening, cancer awareness and treatment camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry, RRDCH in association with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka (Channapatna division) at the Govt Hospital, Channapatna .A total of 70 subjects were screened at the venue and about 16 Patients were provided necessary dental treatment in the Mobile Dental Unit. About 40 patients were referred to the RRDCH for further required treatment. Danta Bhagya camp service was also part of the camp

Two Days CDE Programme and Hands on Workshop in Implantology in Association with Alphabio Implants
CDE and hands on course was conducted by Department of Implantology for the Postgraduates. The programme included lectures by Dr.Anjan Shah, Dr.Mamta NS, Dr.Rithesh K , Dr.Rohit S and Dr.Srilakshmi followed by placement of implant on dummy mandibles by the participants. A total of 40 participants registered for the programme.

CDE Programme by Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology
Prof. Dr. Sandesh M. Mayekar MDS, MS (USA), FATHER OF MORDEN DENTISTRY IN INDIA, a Celebrity dentist, Diplomate of the American Board of Esthetic Dentistry, the one who introduced the concept of Smile design in Femina Miss India Beauty pageants, an advisor to the Indian Institute of Continuing Education and Research (ENCODE), the Founding President of the Indian Academy of Aesthetic & Cosmetic Dentistry and the First Indian to be elected as President of the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, addressed the dental undergraduate and post graduate students of Rajarajeswari dental college and hospital in a CDE programme organized by Department of Oral and Maxillofacial pathology on 22nd Jan 2021. He shared his experiences as a private practitioner and a cosmetic dentist. He gave an insight into how students should add value to their clinical practice with their undergraduate subject knowledge with an emphasis on the knowledge of oral and maxillofacial pathology. Program ended with Q and A session. This event heralded the Prosthodontist day events organised by the Dept Of Prosthodontics, Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital .

29th Batch Fresher’s Day and Inauguration of 1st Year BDS
29th Fresher’s day and Inauguration of 1st BDS 2020-21 Batch was celebrated on 18.01.2021.
Prof. Dr. Balji Rao Senior Oral Medicine Professor was the chief Guest. Dr. Girish, Vice Principal introduced the Chief Guest. He urged the students to respect teachers so that they can come up in life. Principal Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital Dr. Navin, All HOD’s , Staffs and students attended the function.
Principal Dr. Rajkumar. S. Alle welcomed the gathering and all fresher’s were warmly greeted with Roses by the senior students.
The seniors also organized a cultural show for the fresher’s and their parents.
Dean, Dr. Edwin Devadoss proposed the vote of thanks.
The Management, staff and students heartily welcome the new batch and wish them a pleasant blessed stay.
Pongal / Sankranthi Celebrations
Pongal and Sankranthi festivals were celebrated at Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital on 12.01.2021. Being a farmers festival the décor reflected the mood.
Sugarcane, kites, posts, Rangoli decorated the venue.
Respected Chairman graced the occasion and wished everyone Happy Pongal and Sankranthi. Dean and Principal spoke about the importance of the festival and urged everyone to respect the farmer and farming. Both staff and students presented themselves in their traditional dresses. Later Pongal was cooked in a traditional way and the cultural and games that followed was a reflection of all states and tasty sweet and sour pongal was distributed to everyone.

Dr. Mala. M has won 12 University Ranks and also the Gold Medal for the Overall Topper among the 40 Dental Colleges in BDS course for the year 2020.
