An awareness program about National Dentist Day 2021 was held at Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital on 05-03-2021 by a team of dentists from the department of Public Health Dentistry of RRDCH; the program was well received by the students and faculty of the institution.

Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology
The Inter Departmental Clinical Meet was conducted by the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology on 24.02.2021 at the RRDCH auditorium from 9.30am to 10.30am on the topic 2D versus 3D imaging- an insight into bone pathologies. The topic was presented by the third-year postgraduate students Dr Bhagyashree Nair, Dr Jayanta S and Dr. Soundarya GR and was attended by the HOD’s, faculties, postgraduate students and interns of all the departments. The presentation was followed by an interaction session.
The objectives of the presentation included highlighting and analyzing the role of radiologist in assessment of bone pathologies in oral and maxillofacial region utilizing CBCT.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Day
As a part of International Oral and Maxillofacial Day celebration, The Department of OMFS, Rajarajeswari dental college and hospital conducted a program on the theme ADVANCEMENTS IN ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY. A national level e-poster competition was conducted by our department RRDCH as per the theme and the winners were awarded with 1500 rupees for the first place,1000 rupees for the second place and 500 rupees for the third place. There was a guest lecture on scope of OMFS for the fresh graduates by Dr Sanjiv Nair who is the President elect of INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEONS. A lecture on injections and various injection techniques was delivered by Dr Satyanarayana V, Professor, Department of Pharmacology RRMCH followed by a hands on workshop on IV & IM techniques on mannequines was conducted by the department of pharmacology, RRMCH . All the staff, post graduates of Department of OMFS and interns actively participated adding upto a total number of 120 participants. Attendance Certificates were awarded to all the participants. The program was a grand success.

Dental Screening Camp at District Government Hospital, Ramanagar
The Danta Bhagya Denture Camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry and Department of Prosthodontics, Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital in collaboration with RRDCH in association
with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
Government of Karnataka at the Govt Hospital, Ramanagar under the Danta Bhagya scheme on 08-02-2021from 10.30 A.M to 2.30 P.M. A total of 101 patients were been screened, 20 extractions were performed and 41 fortreated with denture treatment procedures like preliminary impressions, Jaw relations and wax trial of denture. Certain Patients were referred to Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital for further treatment.

Dental Screening Camp at Channapatna
A post lockdown screening and treatment camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry, RRDCH in association with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka (Channapatna division) at the Govt Hospital, Channapatna on 4th February 2021 from 10.A.M to 3.00 P.M.
Camp started with an Oral Health education that was rendered to all the subjects present at the venue by the Dr. Karishma. H ( PG Student, Dept of Public Health Dentistry) on the eve of “WORLD CANCER DAY”.A total of 70 subjects were screened at the venue and about 16 Patients were provided necessary dental treatment in the Mobile Dental Unit. About 40 patients were referred to the RRDCH for further required treatment. Danta Bhagya camp service was also part of the camp
