Kannada Rajyotsava 2025

Our college proudly celebrated the 70th Kannada Rajyotsava on 29 November 2025, honouring the rich heritage, culture, and linguistic pride of Karnataka.
The event was graced by our beloved Dean, Dr Edwin Devadoss, our respected Principal Dr. Girish H. C., Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Suresh V. Nadagoudar, Registrar & Vice-Chancellor, MGRDPR University, Gadag, PG Director Dr.Savitha S, Professor Dr.Nagarathna C.

The programme began with Karnataka State Anthem, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

Dr. Sindhu K efficiently served as the Master of Ceremony for the event.

The programme featured the active presence and participation of our teaching and non-teaching staff, and both PG and UG students, the event were well carried out by the interns adding enthusiasm to the occasion.

Our beloved principal Dr.Girish HC delivered the welcome address, following which the dignitaries felicitated the Chief Guest. Prof
Dr. Nagarathna C introduced the guest of honour, leading to an insightful and inspiring address by Prof. Dr. Suresh V. Nadagoudar.
To honour our state language with pride, felicitation of our newly joined 1st BDS student ,Ms Dhanushree was done for securing a perfect score of 100 in Kannada subject in II PUC examinations.

PG Director Dr. Savitha S delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all the contributors who made this event a grand success.
The cultural festivities were set in motion with vibrant Bharatanatyam, melodious singing, and energetic dance performances by the students, beautifully reflecting the spirit and essence of Kannada culture. The programme concluded with a light meal for all, marking a warm and memorable end to the celebration.

The event fostered unity, cultural appreciation, and wholehearted participation from students and staff, making Kannada Rajyotsava 2025 a meaningful and memorable occasion for our institution.

Dental Screening, treatment and awareness at Government PU BOYS College, Channapatna

Date : 24/11/2025
Venue : Government PU BOYS College,Channapatna

Dental screening camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry at Government PU BOYS College Channapatna on 24st November 2025 from 10 AM to 2 PM in association with Youth Red Cross organization.

A total of 250 people were screened and were 38 treated . Oral health education and demonstration on tooth brushing techniques were provided to the attendees. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.

Dental Screening and awareness Camp on Government First Grade College,Channapatna

Date : 21/11/2025
Venue : Government First Grade College,Channapatna

Dental screening camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry at Government First Grade College Channapatna on 21st November 2025 from 10 AM to 2 PM in association with Youth Red Cross organization.
A total of 158 people were screened and were 21 treated . Oral health education and demonstration on tooth brushing techniques were provided to the attendees. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.

National tooth brushing Day 2025

In observance of National Tooth brushing Day 2025 – the Department of Public Health Dentistry organized an Oral Health Education, Tooth Brushing Demonstration and Distribution of FREE ORAL HYGIENE KITS program for students of K.Gollahalli Government Primary and middle School on 7-11-2025 in association with Children of India Foundation.

Demonstration of correct method of tooth brushing using models and reinforcement of the same was carried out by encouraging the participants to demonstrate the tooth brushing technique that was taught to them. This was followed by education about dental diseases, its treatment and Distribution of free tooth pastes and tooth brushes for students of K.Gollahalli Government Primary school.

Around 180 students were screened for Oral health problems and 40 students were treated.
The program was well received and acknowledged by the students and teachers of Government Primary school.

International Elder’s Day

Date : 17th October 2025
Venue : Mathruchaya Trust, Agara.

The Department of Prosthodontics enthusiastically stepped forward to celebrate ‘International Day for older persons’, and organized ‘Free Dental Screening and Treatment Camp’. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our respected chairman Dr AC Shanmugam for the thoughtful gesture of providing hand towels making the elderly persons feel valued and cared for. We are thankful to our beloved Dean Dr Edwin Devdoss and Dr.Girish HC, the Principal for their continuous support and inspiring us with their compassion and commitment to community welfare. We extend our sincere gratitude to IPS, Bengaluru branch for their kind sponsorship of fruits to the elders. This thoughtful contribution brought smiles, warmth and nourishment to our beloved senior citizens.

DHATHRU – Organ Donation Pledge Drive

An Organ Donation Pledge Drive was conducted at Rajarajeshwari Dental College and Hospital in continuation of our commitment towards social causes.
All Faculty, Postgraduates and Interns were administered the pledge on “PROMISE OF LIFE “ by Principal of RRDCH Dr Girish H.C. and vowed to contribute towards the Nobel initiative.
A signature campaign drive was conducted following the pledge.

Swacch Bharath Abhyaan Campaign

Venue : Chunchunkuppe Gram Panchayat along with rural health center of RRDCH Chunchunkuppe premesis.
Committee / Department : NSS unit Rajarajeswari Dental college and hospital and Public Health Dentistry, RRDCH.

Brief Description of Program :
The event was organised by NSS unit Rajarajeswari Dental college and hospital and Public Health Dentistry, RRDCH. Like earlier years the spirit of cleanliness activities is voluntarism/ shramdaan. The focus of this year’s Swachhta drive was the following list of activities
• Cleaning of the bus stand and around Chunchunkuppe Gram Panchayat along with rural health center of RRDCH Chunchunkuppe village : All the NSS volunteers and staff took part in 1 hour shramdaan activity inline with this years Nationwide Shramadaan event “ Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” .
• Clearing the plastic disposibles in and around the gram panchayat office and bus stand of Chunchunkuppe village was done and education of the street vendors and shops regarding the segregation of the waste before disposing was given.
• In and around the institutional premises of rural health center of Chunchunkuppe was also cleaned.

29th Graduation Ceremony and 33rd College Day 2025

29th Graduation Ceremony of Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital and 33rd College Day and Cultural Festival “ELANTRIA-2025” was celebrated on 13.09.2025 at A.C.S Convention Center, Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital Campus of Rajarajeswari Dental College & Hospital and Founder Chairman, Chancellor of Dr. M G R Educational & Research University, Chennai was the Chief Guest and delivered the Graduation Address along with him Er. A.C.S Arun Kumar, President of A.C.S Group of Institution was present as Guest of Honor.
39 Post Graduates and 83 Under Graduates received their Graduation Certificates from the Honored Guests.

Considerations In Maxillofacial Trauma Management

Introduction:
Maxillofacial trauma represents a significant portion of injuries encountered in emergency medicine and surgical practice, with causes and clinical presentations varying widely across different age groups. In the inter-departmental meet organized, department of oral & maxillofacial surgery discussed the age-specific considerations in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of maxillofacial fractures, focusing particularly on the pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
Each age group presents with distinct anatomical, physiological, and psychosocial factors that influence both the mechanism of injury and the choice of treatment modality. Pediatric patients have a unique set of challenges due to the presence of developing dentition and active growth centers. In contrast, adult patients typically require more definitive fixation due to fully matured bone structures. Geriatric patients, on the other hand, often are complicated by osteoporosis, systemic comorbidities, and slower healing processes

Dental screening and Treatment camp at Nirashrithara parihara kendra

Content: Dental screening and Treatment camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry at Nirashrithara Parihara Kendra on 19th September 2025 A total of 33 inmates were screened and 11 were treated. Oral health education and demonstration, awareness about harms of tobacco was provided to the attendees and the program was well received by the officials and the inmates. Appropriate
referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.

Dental Screening and Awareness Camp at Government Primary School,Thagachaguppe

Date : 11/09/2025
Venue : Government Primary School,Thagachaguppe

Dental screening camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry at Government primary school Thagachaguppe, Bangalore on 11th September 2025 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

A total of 165 people were screened and toothbrush and toothpaste were distributed among all the students. Oral health education and demonstration on tooth brushing model, awareness about oral diseases, preventive procedures such as fluoride and sealant application were done using flip charts. Higher primary school children were sensitized to the harms of tobacco use using visual aids. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.

Voluntary Blood Donation Camp

Excerpts: Blood Donation Camp On Occasion of Teachers Day Celebration
Date : 09-09-2025

A Voluntary Blood donation camp was organized and conducted on occasion of Teachers Day- 9th September 2025 by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital. The associated blood banks and organizations in the noble endeavor were:
1. Blood bank- Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital.
2. LION’s Club- Bangalore South.

A total of 83 UNITS of blood were donated collectively from the volunteer donors including Teaching, Non Teaching Staff, and Postgraduates, Interns and Undergraduates of Rajarajeswari Dental college and Hospital.
In addition all the Donors and Volunteers were tested for Hemoglobin levels and Blood grouping.
The program was well received and acknowledged by the Management, Dean, Principal and Faculty of RRDCH.
All the volunteers wholeheartedly co-operated in making this program a grand success.

Dental screening and treatment camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry in association with Government of Karnataka (Ministry of Health and Family welfare) at Primary Health Center, Honganooru Channapatna on 28th August 2025 from 09:15 AM to 4:30 PM.

A total of 25 people were screened and 7 were treated. Oral health education and demonstration was provided to the attendees. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.

Nidhishree Ramesh Naik Wins Miss Attractive Title at Miss Divine Diva 2025

Nidhishree Ramesh Naik of 3rd Year BDS student our college had participated in National level pageant Miss Divine Diva 2025 held in Mangaluru on 10 August 2025.and made it into top 8 finalist among other state contestants and secured the title of Miss Divine Diva Miss attractive 2025

Dental screening and treatment camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry at Government Primary School, Kengeri on 19th August 2025 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

A total of 281 people were screened, and toothbrush, toothpaste were distributed among all the students. Oral health education and demonstration was provided to the attendees. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.

Venue : Bevoor PHC ,Channapatna

Dental screening and treatment camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry in association with Government of Karnataka (Ministry of Health and Family welfare) at Primary Health Center Bevoor Channapatna on 20TH AUGUST 2025 from 09:15 AM to 4:00 PM.

A total of 24 people were screened and 8 were treated. Oral health education and demonstration was provided to the attendees. Appropriate referrals were made to RRDCH for further treatment.
