CDE on Insights and Current Trends in Implantology
The CDE programme was conducted by Department of Dental Implantology which included lecture by Dr. Supreeth S.M Esthetic and cosmetic dentist(Newyork university) and Diplomate of implantology.
The programme had faculty, postgraduates and interns as participants which involved lecture on sinus lift, ridge split osseodensification and ridge augmentation.An extensive and informative lecture of more than 2 hours was the highlight of the programme.

On Occasion of World Health Day 2022 The Dept. of Public Health Dentistry- RRDC&H organized a Talk based on the Theme of World Health Day 2022.

Dr Mamatha Presented a talk on the importance of ecology and environment stressing on need as healthcare professionals and as responsible citizens our role in protecting our planet.
The talk was attended by Dean, Principal, Faculty members, Postgraduates and Interns of RRDCH. The talk was well received by all.
A memento was gifted to the speaker by Principal- Dr Rajkumar Alle and Dr Padma K Bhat-Head of Dept. of Public Health Dentistry.

Abstract: Contemporary endodontics has seen an unprecedented advance in technology and materials. This presentation was a brief about the different aspects of the future of endodontics covering the following topics which included: newer diagnostic aids, Contemporary endodontics, 3D printing in endodontics,Regeneration ,Nanotechnology,cryotherapy and ozone.The presentation also included clinical case presentation done in the department using advanced technology ,various invivo and invitro research studies done in our department with regards to the future of endodontics.

An Oral Health Screening, Health Education And Dental Treatment Camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry – RRDCH at Nagathihalli – Hometown of renowned Kannada film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar on 1st April,2022 from 10 AM to 3 PM. The event was a part of Nagathihalli Habba – event (A 3 day event).
Dr Padma K Bhat- Prof. and Head of Dept. of Public Health dentistry; headed a team of 12 doctors who rendered services to all the camp patients.
About 140 patients (Residents of Nagathihalli) were screened, and approx. 70 patients received treatment at the Mobile dental Unit of RRDCH.
The others were referred to RRDCH for further required treatment. Oral health Education was given to all the camp beneficiaries.
All the Doctors were personally felicitated by Mr. Nagathihalli Chandrashekar.

World Oral Health Week Celebrations by Dept. of Periodontology
On the occasion of world oral health day, the department of Periodontology and Public Health Dentistry of Rajarajeshwari dental college & hospital in association with ISP (Indian society of periodontology) organized a program on the topic “IMPORTANCE OF ORAL HEALTH” for 4th BDS and INTERNS. The speaker was Dr. NALINI M.S, PROFESSOR Department of PERIODONTOLOGY who discussed about importance of oral health, prevention, how periodontal disease affects overall health, various oral hygiene aids.

World Oral Health Week Celebrations by Dept. of Prosthodontics
On the Occasion of World Oral Health Week, Rajarajeswari Dental college & Hospital in association with Dental Council of India has Organized week long Oral Health Promotion activities as a part of National Oral Health Promotion ( Govt. of India Initiative) from 21st March- 26th March 2022.
As a part of the program – Department of Prosthodontics organized a Senior Citizen Screening Camp on 21 March 2022 along with Health talk and a play on “Be proud of your mouth” for Geriatric residents of Mathruchaya Old age home, Agara Village.
The programme was graced by the presence of Dr.Shwetha Poovani, Head of Prosthodontics Department and Mr. Krishna Murthy, Director of Mathruchaya Trust.
The staff, postgraduates and interns took active participation in educating and creating awareness amongst the elderly through a stage show based on the theme Be Proud of Your Mouth” which highlighted the importance of maintaining remaining teeth , replacement of missing teeth , diet and nutritional counseling.
Screening of around 25 inmates was done and Treatment options were explained to each inmate. Follow up was done for the existing denture patients who were treated during the previous visit.
Elderly also appreciated the efforts of young doctors for providing the information and solving their queries regarding general and oral health
World Oral Health Week Celebrations by Dept. of Public Health Dentistry
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital, Bangalore in association with Dental Council of India initiated Oral Health Week Celebrations as a part of National Oral Health Policy and World Oral Health day – March 2022.
The event was conducted at OPD of RRDCH on 21.03.2022. Oral Health awareness was imparted to the patients at OPD and advised to visit dentist regularly. Free Mouth rinses were distributed by Head of Dept. Dr Padma K Bhat and instructions were provided on its use.
Patients were encouraged to avail the weeklong free oral health prophylaxis service being offered in the Department Public Health Dentistry.
Dean – Dr Edwin Devadoss and Dr Rajkumar Alle – Principal – RRDCH presided the event and distributed the Mouth rinses. The event was well received by the patients.

Dental screening was done for the students and faculty of the college and Awareness was provided about the importance of oral health.
Mouthwashes were distributed to the students, volunteers and staff .Referral mechanisms were made to enable them to seek dental care at RRDCH.
