Course Overview

Post graduates are trained to deliver diverse spectrums of treatment ranging from infant oral health care, diet counseling, habit interception, preventive and interceptive orthodontics, pediatric endodontics, exodontia, minor oral surgical procedures. Preventive caries strategies are routinely practiced in the department. Post graduates are also trained to use soft and hard tissue laser. In addition to these modalities conscious sedation, rotary endodontics and full mouth rehabilitation under GA are also an integral part of post graduate training. Free dental camps organized by the department stresses the importance of public health to students. The department provides students with an in-depth understanding of clinical expertise in practice of dentistry for children and also specially abled children.

The department has adequately stocked library with numerous books and journals for student reference. Post graduate programme commenced in the year 2009 and till date 100% Results has been achieved. Multidisciplinary approach in treating patients prepares students for careers in community practice and /or academics. The Pedodontics team not just focuses on clinical patient care but also on research having multiple publications in national and international journals.

The Department of Pediatric Dentistry at RRDCH Bangalore, is a center for quality oral health care delivery to infants, children and adolescents. The highly qualified experienced Pedodontics team strongly believes and functions on effective team work. The Department is exclusively designed in a child friendly manner with colorful children’s play area, health education room, attractive pediatric dental chairs, relaxing music, attractive TV screens all set to make the child’s visit fun, comfortable and memorable.
