With the consent of Dean and Principal, it was decided to organize the orientation Program for the 1st Year 2021-22 batch of post graduates. The date finalized was 15th and 16th March 2022, to be conducted in Lecture Hall 1 in Rajarajeswari Dental college campus.

On 15th March 2022 at 9:30, in the gathering of all the department heads, the Orientation program started with a inauguration program by lighting the lamp by the Dean, Principal, Vice principal, PG Director, Speakers with a prayer in the name of god.

First year Post graduates were addressed by Dean Dr. Edwin Devdoss, Principal Dr. Rajkumar Alle .

All the topic of lecture were meticulously planned to benefit the first year post graduate to help them and get an overview of the masters curriculum. Even a topic of stress management was added to make sure that students understand the structure of their master program well and not to unnecessary take stress during the course.

Orientation lectures were started with our Principal Dr. Rajkumar Alle speaking on Introduction to Master Degree, Discussion of RGUHS Curriculumfollowed by the other faculty speakers

Dr. Ramesh Chowdhary, Professor and head Research Department and Professor in Prosthodontics on the topic of – Introduction to Research, Selection of research topic, and one more lecture on Seminar and Journal club Preparation.

Dr. Shivaprasad BM, Professor, Department of Periodontics, on – Tools of research.

Dr Padma Bhat, Head of the department of Public health and Dr. Prasanna, Professor, Department of Public health Spoke on the topic of Biostatics for dental Research.

The last lecture of the day was done by Dr Girish, Vice principal,on the topic of – How to Prepare Synopsis.

Next day, the lectures started with Dr Nandakishore, Professor, Department of conservative and Endodontics on – Clinical Documentation and legal compliance.

It was followed by lecture of Dr Shruti, Professor, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, on the topic of- Infection control.

The last lecture of the orientation program was done by Dr. Jaya, Professor, Department of Pedodontics and preventive Dentistry, on the topic of – Academic Stress Management.

The Program came to end at 1.30 in the afternoon of 16th March 2022.

A feedback was collected from the students wherein, the students appreciated the program and the lectures. Most of them said, they could get an overview of their curriculum and how to go through them same for the next 3 years of their time in department and institution.
