A Tobacco-Free Generation Pledge was administered to encourage children to stay away from tobacco and spread awareness among their peers and families.
As part of the BBMP Rose Campaign, roses carrying anti-tobacco messages were distributed to the general public to promote awareness and encourage a healthy, tobacco-free lifestyle.
The department also prepared and distributed awareness pamphlets to local shopkeepers highlighting important tobacco control regulations, including the recent Karnataka law increasing the legal age for tobacco
sales to 21 years.
An awareness programme was organized at the Rajarajeswari Rural Health Centre, Chunchunkuppe. Local shopkeepers were invited and educated about the legal and health implications of selling tobacco products to individuals below 21 years of age. A pledge ceremony was conducted, where participants committed to adhering to tobacco control regulations and supporting a tobacco-free community.
