Oral Hygiene day Celebrations
Department of Public Health Dentistry in association with Department of Periodontics of Rajarajeswari dental college and hospital celebrated oral hygiene day on 1st august 2013 to commemorate the birth anniversary of G.B Shankwalke, the doyen of Indian Periodontal Society.
A rally was organized from the institution to government school Anchepalya along Bangalore – Mysore state highway where oral hygiene day was celebrated. More than 100 students including the staff, postgraduates and undergraduate students participated in the rally with placards and slogans to create awareness among the public on the importance of oral hygiene.
Health talk on maintenance of good oral hygiene was delivered to the students and teachers of the school by the postgraduates of department of public health dentistry. Distribution of tooth paste and brushes’ along with pamphlets / handbills was done for students and teachers. An interactive session on oral health care was held between the students and the staff members. The day was rewarding both to the students of the school as well as for the doctors.
