Oral Biopsy: Revealing its importance in Dentistry a lecture hosted by Department of
Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology by HOD Dr Savita JK on 05-04-2024 as part of Interns study club 2024 was a huge success with a total of 50 participants (interns batch of 2019-20).
Following the lecture, students were taken to the histopathology lab, where Dr. Varsha VK and Dr. Vinay demonstrated the processes of grossing the biopsy tissue (specimen), processing, cutting, and staining the tissue.
The lecture session covered important topics such as “Importance of biopsy” and “Indications & Contraindications of biopsy” & lasted for approximately 1 hour which improved the understanding of the topics for the interns. The session was interactive and knowledgeable. The interns’ study club offers educational sessions that have aided in their knowledge acquisition.
The department is thankful to dean Dr. Edwin Devdoss and Principal Dr. Girish H C of this Rajarajeswari Dental College and Hospital for providing the opportunity to conduct this education programme for Interns.
