Doctor’s Day was celebrated on July 1st across India in honor of the legendary physician Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was born on July 1st 1882 and died on the same date in 1962. Dr. Roy was honored with the country’s highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna on 4th February 1961.
The celebration of doctor’s day is to emphasize on the value of doctors in our lives and to offer them our respect.
As a part of doctor’s day celebration at our institution we conducted a program including a documentary on doctor’s day and skit competition from our young and dynamic post graduate students.
We honored Dr. H. Sahajanand, Professor and Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, critical care and pain medicine on this day. Dr. H Sahajanand gave the address on Medical emergencies in Dental Practice and judged the skit competition. The program was attend by 150 students, interns and staff and was a grand success.
